On Saturday, June 14, 2014, Stephen White and Sonya Dessureault will be teaching West Coast Swing Private Lessons and Workshops in Norwalk, CT. These two All-Star dancers have recently become one of the power-couples on the West Coast Swing circuit. Individually, Stephen, a Floridian, has placed in Showcase and numerous All-Star and Invitational Jack & Jills. Sonya, from Montreal, has captivated the judges since she started West Coast Swing in 2011. Together, they are traveling the world showing off their romance, sexiness, and all that West Coast Swing can create.

5:00pm - Stephen & Sonya's Sexy Styling
Level: Adv Beg
Stephen and Sonya are two awesome dancers independently, but when they started dating, hot sparks started to fly. Sonya will be teaching some sexy follower styling while Stephen demonstrates how to keep leader masculinity while creating "Sonya" movement.
* You must know the basic rhythm and footwork of WCSwing to attend this class and be able to sustain a basic level social dance.

6:00pm - Zouk Your West Coast Swing
Level: Adv Beg
Zouk is a dance from Brazil whose movement style is being adopted by West Coast Swing. This is similar to how Swango infused Tango movement into West Coast Swing in the early 2000s. Stephen and Sonya will be guiding you through some simple and usable Zouk movement and show you how to add it to your West Coast Swing.
* You must know the basic rhythm and footwork of WCSwing to attend this class and be able to sustain a basic level social dance.

7:30pm - Play with your...Dance
Level: Intermediate
Sometimes you just need to play around with your dance. This playfulness gives dancers the ability to be creative, musical, flirtatious, and fun. But after taking so many classes, it's hard to be playful, or to know when to bend the rules. This workshop will give you a way to be more entertaining to yourself and your partner.
* You must be able to sustain a social dance in West Coast Swing with a variety of people and be able to lead/follow a whip with a double outside turn.

8:30pm - Fun, All-Star Looking Moves
Level: Intermediate
With awesome dancers like Stephen and Sonya in the house, it's a good time to learn their top hot-shot moves. This workshop will give you great vocabulary and fun movement ideas for your next amazing dance.

Stephen White
Stephen White is an All-Star Swing Professional who currently travels around the world instructing, choreographing, competing, and performing. The palest working man in the Swing world, he's known for a quirky wit, fun workshops, and an avid love of social dancing! Please make sure he avoids excess sunlight.
Sonya Dessureault
Sonya Dessureault hails from Montreal, Quebec, Canada (not to be confused with the rest of Canada, or France). With a background in teaching Salsa and Latin street dance for 7 years, she brings a unique flavor to her West Coast. Versed extensively in Modern, Hip hop, Jazz, Classical, Etc, she is also fluent in 5 different languages. That means she can teach you many dances, in many ways, in many tongues! She can even translate the "southern" that Stephen tends to speak.
