Try Dance
Workshops
In Progress
If you've ever
wanted to try Night Club Two Step, West Coast Swing or Hustle,
now your can. You can even recommend it to your
non-dancing friends. We start with an easier dance like
Night Club Two Step and graduate to more challenging partner
dances. We'll kick off the year with this.
Competitive
Crew
In Progress
We're going to
get a group together of our competitive dancers - those who
aspire to compete in Jack & Jills or more in WCS or Hustle.
This focus group will work on dips, drops and competitive
movements. The expectation of this group is to place top-5
in all local dance events in 2010.
Student-Teacher
Program
In
Progress
It's time raise
the roof! I'm going to be training some of our core staff
to help teach. This is going to lead to FREE beginner
days, where student instructors can guide some newcomers in a
welcoming way. I'm excited to see how they share
their love for dance with others.
Day of Dance
Ballet/Tap/Jazz
trifecta. Take all three or explore just one. Ballet
makes the body stronger (no tights required) - we'll just give
you good leg and arms lines (just as important for leaders as
for followers). Tap gives you rhythm and makes your body
work with your brain. Jazz gives you creative options.
All three forms give you a great foundation for all partner
dancers.
"Starter Kit"
Hustle & WCS
in the Surrounding Area
It's time to
get everyone dancing. I will be
hosting "Starter Kit" Hustle/WCSwing nights in local
areas to give people a chance to start dancing in their back
yard. It's the
perfect way to get started on a journey that can last a
lifetime.
Routine Team
Time to review
all the routines we learned in 2009. We're going to get
them ready to show at some of the events in 2010. This
will be open to all people who can handle the choreography that
we did in the advanced class.
Spins & Turns
Learning spin
or turn definitely increases your level instantly. Women
who can turn are generally the most sought after followers and
men who can turn are usually the guys who get all the
attention...the good type.
This is an essential class for
anyone interested in WCSwing or Hustle.
Technique
The devil (I
mean beauty) is in the details. What separates the average
dancer from the impressive dancer? It's either their musicality
or their technique. The technique workshops will be used
to supplement the weekly classes by filling in the details.
Good technique make your dance more efficient, easier, and sets
you up to try even more challenging movements.
Musicality
The secret to
the Universe probably lies within music. It is impossible
to consider yourself a respectable dancer if you don't have a
basic knowledge of music. The Musicality for WCS classes
will guide you through the amazing journey of basic
understanding of music and how it makes WCSwing the one of the
most amazing dances.
Dance Events
Time to travel.
Going to my first dance event changed my life. It was
literally like finding "Paradise Lost". Hundreds of people
dancing and all of them very friendly...that was over 10 years
ago, when I went alone to Atlanta, GA for my first event.
I'd like to get a group of people together to have a good time
and dance their booties off for a weekend...at an event.
