WCSwing/ Hustle/ Salsa Fest starts this weekend in Stamford (Fri,
May 30 & Sat, May 31) - See Below. I hope to see you all for this
one-of-a-kind event in Connecticut. The spirit of this event is to
bring people together to learn (no competitions) and have fun with
some of the best instructors in the WCSwing & Hustle world.
Oh...and I got engaged
this weekend to Anna Brady - come celebrate with us at the event.

 Double Your
Gas Mileage By "Hypermiling"
Stop
complaining about gas prices - we can't
do anything about it....or can we?
This weekend I improved my gas mileage
by 15% but "Hypermiling". In
effect, I paid $3.60/gallon by changing
some of my driving habits.
You've
probably learned good technique for
dancing and how to use your body
efficiently for leading and following.
So think of this as "technique" for your
driving.
If you do a
few things you can increase your Miles
per Gallon (MPG) on the first try.
Tip #1: Stop
Breaking!! - Create a buffer zone
between you and the car in front you so
that you can move in and out of traffic
without using the break.
Tip #2:
Stop hard accelerations!! Drive
smoothly so that you don't "hit" the
gas.
Tip #3:
Drive at an Efficient Speed (that's
around 55-60 mph for most cars). Use
Cruise Control!!

Friday
is all about introducing new beginners to the wonderful world of
dance. Friday also provides an opportunity for more
skilled dancers to work on their basics. This will
be followed by a Professional/Instructor Demonstration - to show
you what these amazing instructors can do if we just let them
play. Then, the night is yours with the two of the
best DJs of their fields: John Festa (WCS Room) and Bobby
Morales (Hustle Room). Both DJs are legends!
Saturday
is when the adv beginners & intermediates improve their game
with morning & afternoon workshops. We even have ballroom
workshops to keep things friendly with our "brother/sister"
communities. Then we have the Private Lesson Jack &
Jill where at least 30 randomly-selected people will have a
chance to have a 15 minute FREE private lesson with our
Professional Staff (this is part of the workshop package).
The night will begin with a professional show with companies
from NYC and CT and will climax with a WCS & Hustle Party in one
room.
