Back to Basics w Rhythm & Timing
Level: Beginner & up
This class will review the 7
basic steps of West Coast Swing. We'll review and break
down as much as you can handle. Special emphasis will be
given to understanding the nuances of Rhythm and Timing.
We'll explore how pulsing can help show your swung-triplets (you
might need to take this class if you don't understand that
phrase).
Requirements:
Participants must have working knowledge of their WCSwing
basics for the dance portion of the class.

Connection, Connection, Connection
Level: Intermediate & up
Partner
dancing is all about effective communication. Not only can
movement patterns be led, but so can speed changes and level
changes. We'll explore how to prevent guys from pre-mature
leading, how followers can defend against being pulled, and how
to create rotation.
Requirements:
Participants must have working knowledge of their WCSwing
basics .

Let's Get Crazy
Level: Advanced
How do the professionals
do it? Honestly, we start moves and let followers finish
them. It's more of a dialogue than a speaker/listener.
In this class, we'll show you how to start some fun moves and
have the followers finish them with great musicality. This
class might might take you to the next level.
Requirements:
Participants must have working knowledge of their WCS
basics and understand the names and counts of all the basics.\

Who are
Erik Novoa & Anna Brady: |
|
Erik
Novoa has been dancing for 20 years,
starting with ballet and continuing
through jazz, modern dance, musical
theatre, tap and, finally in 1998, West
Coast Swing. In the years following, he
soared through the rankings and has been
a top-10 finalist in the US Open three
times. Two years after starting
West Coast Swing, he also won the
national championships for Hustle.
He is currently one of the major torches
of both dances in the Northeast and in
2006 received the "Best of the Gold
Coast" award for Best Way to Get in
Step. Erik has an inspiring dance
style and a standout teaching ability
which you won't want to miss.
Originally from
Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anna Brady combines the
discipline of classical ballet
with the
creativity of partner dancing. She trained and
performed in both classical and
modern styles and also competed in ballroom/latin
dance while at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. Anna has recently performed
with Erik Novoa in contemporary ballet pieces
"Ordinary Day" (Choreographed by Erik & Anna)
and "The Player" (Choreographed by Anna). She
is known throughout the northeast for her
"Spins, Turns & Technique" classes for partner
dancing.
