 These
workshops are designed to take your West Coast Swing to another level.
We will be addressing the technique of Spins & Turns and immediately
apply them to your West Coast Swing. The following workshops will
explore some of the most exciting concepts and movements that are being
used by the top professionals. These are the workshops that
will affect how you dance in your Jack & Jills and on the social dance
floor. All of these classes are designed to improve your dancing
and understanding of West Coast Swing.
Best of all, Tom Johnson
will be providing a three course dinner for all workshop-attendees and the night will be capped off with a dance-till-you drop West Coast Swing
party. |

Direction & Re-direction
Level: Beginner - Intermediate
There are many things that can
make a dance interesting. One of the easiest and most creative
is just by re-directing the flow of momentum. We'll be playing
with many types of movements and then redirecting them to create
cool moments.

Magic Hands
Level - Intermediate
Ever try to copy the pros by
watching a YouTube video? One of the hardest things to do is to
figure out the hand-holds...and the transitions to new
hand-holds. We'll give you some new magic tricks that will be
really easy on the follower, eye-opening for the leader and
impossible to copy by the observer.

Who are
Erik Novoa & Anna Brady: |
|
Erik
Novoa has been dancing for 20 years, starting
with ballet and continuing through jazz, modern
dance, musical theatre, tap and, finally in
1998, west coast swing. In the years following,
he soared through the rankings and has been a
top-10 finalist in the US Open three times. Two
year after starting West Coast Swing, he also
won the national championships for Hustle. He
is currently one of the major torches of both
dances in the Northeast and in 2006 received the
"Best of the Gold Coast" award for Best Way to
Get in Step. Erik has an inspiring dance style
and an infamous teaching ability which you won't
want to miss.
Originally from
Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anna Brady combines the
discipline of classical ballet with the
creativity of partner dancing. She trained and
performed in both classical and
modern styles and also competed in ballroom/latin
dance while at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. Anna has recently performed
with Erik Novoa in contemporary ballet pieces
"Ordinary Day" (Choreographed by Erik & Anna)
and "The Player" (Choreographed by Anna). She
is known throughout the northeast for her
"Spins, Turns & Technique" classes for partner
dancing.
