A Social
Experiment
Most
people under-35 are a little scared to try partner dancing as a
way to have fun and meet new people. This is the first
experiment to see if we can encourage some new people to give
dancing a try.
We have a number of people who
are "35 & under" (including me and my fiancé) who currently
attend our regular weekly dances. This evening's
experiment will be "your night"....pizza party so we can get to
know each other and confess how silly we all feel, a crash
course in West Coast Swing, and a 1 hour party with some of the
music you hear on the radio today.
Instead of boring you with all
the reasons why dancing is good for you, we can just say that
Anna and I met on the dance floor, we both use dance as our
primary fitness program, and have a country full of friends
because of it....how about you?
See you on Saturday,
Erik & Anna

Pizza Party - Meet and Get Silly
I'm ordering pizza, so you better
show up! If you need b-day hats to make it feel even more
silly, we can do that too. Or you can just think of it as
FREE DINNER. This is our way of getting everyone to know
each other, network, and pretend like we could be on Dancing
With the Stars if we wanted to.
Refreshments
will be provided but feel free to bring your favorite drink /
food / desert.

Who is
Erik Novoa: |
|
Erik
Novoa has been competing in West Coast Swing since 1998. In that
time, he has risen to compete in the Invitational division. He
has placed top-10 at the US Open in the Classic Division three
times and has excelled in Strictly Swing and Jack & Jill
competitions at numerous national events. Most recently,
he won 1st Place in the Adv Jack & Jill at
Swingin' Into Spring in Windsor Locks, CT.
Erik has also been competing
in Hustle since 2000 and immediately stole the show
by becoming a 2 time national champion in 2001 & 2002.
He later became a finalist on ABC Family's revival of Dance
Fever, becoming the only Hustle act on the premier series which
aired in July 2003.

Erik's former
training in ballet, jazz, tap and musical theater enables him to
teach in a style which is knowledgeable, clear and concise. He
is a featured instructor for many regional and national events
because of his ability to get people dancing quickly using his
humor, personality, style, rapport with students, and his solid
knowledge of dance fundamentals and technique. Students
complete each workshop with a better understanding of the
specific dance, overall dance technique and musicality. |
